Masterclass: Schools safeguarding update 2026/27

Course Description

Are you a safeguarding lead or teacher at a school in England in 2026/27? Our essential masterclass covers what you need to get back to school with confidence, including updates to Keeping children safe in education (KCSIE).

Developed using our safeguarding expertise, based on the latest evidence and guidance and bringing the voice of children and young people from Childline. You’ll discover vital information, including how developments in technology impact safeguarding and how to identify a child who may be at risk.

What will I learn? 

 This 60-minute online on-demand recording will guide you through: 

  • Working Together and KCSIE updates, including new government guidance on how to support children questioning their gender 
  • relevant safeguarding guidance and legislation including the Crime and Policing Act and the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Act 
  • emerging safeguarding risks and vulnerabilities including loneliness, Com Networks and sexually coerced extortion.

  • Duration
    • It should take you about 60 minutes to complete the Masterclass. 

    •  You will have access to the Masterclass for one year following purchase. You can take it as many times as you like in that time.

       This masterclass can be accessed on PCs and Macs, as well as iPads or other tablet devices. Please note, we are unable to provide full technical support for tablet users. We do not support other mobile devices. If you choose to use a mobile device we would recommend watching the video in full screen mode.

      Videos clips hosted on the video sharing site Vimeo feature in the Masterclass. Video playback controls will vary and are dependent on the browser used to take the course and where the video is hosted. Your browser may automatically mute the video when it starts playing, but you should be able to unmute the video using the speaker icon on the bottom right of the player toolbar.
