This CPD certified course is for anyone working or volunteering in schools, academies and colleges in the UK who has previously completed full safeguarding and child protection in schools training.

 You will cover:

  • what safeguarding means and why it matters
  • roles and responsibilities
  • definitions, signs and indicators of abuse and neglect
  • how to respond appropriately to concerns
  • what, when and how to report
  • how to record concerns effectively
  • creating a safer environment in your school

Through teaching pages, films and learning activities you’ll explore the key principles and updates in safeguarding and child protection – without having to re-take a full course.

This course is for staff and volunteers who have previously completed full safeguarding and child protection in schools training, like our Safeguarding training for schools, academies and colleges. If you are new to safeguarding and have not previously taken a full course, like our Safeguarding training for schools, academies and colleges course, then please speak to your manager before purchasing this refresher.

      Our courses are compatible with most tablet devices, however the NSPCC does not provide full technical support for tablet users. We do not support other mobile devices.

      Videos clips hosted on the video sharing site Vimeo feature in some of our courses. Video playback controls will vary and are dependent on the browser used to take the course and where the video is hosted. If you experience problems with the videos then we recommend you try taking the course in a different browser.
