Refresher: Safeguarding and child protection

Course Description

Update and build on your safeguarding knowledge and feel confident in keeping children and young people safe.

This CPD certified course is for anyone working or volunteering with children and young people in the UK who has previously completed full safeguarding and child protection training.

Our safeguarding refresher course will help you feel confident in safeguarding children and young people. This training covers the essential knowledge you need, including a recap on the 4Rs of safeguarding and the steps to take to keep children and young people safe.

In an hour and a half you’ll learn:

  • what safeguarding and child protection mean
  • how to recognise the signs and indicators of abuse and neglect
  • what steps you must take to respond to safeguarding concerns
  • how and when to report a concern
  • what you must record and how to keep clear and detailed records.

You’ll learn through teaching pages, film clips and learning activities to help you build on and reinforce your knowledge.

This course is designed for those who have previously completed full safeguarding and child protection training. It offers a concise overview of the key principles and updates in safeguarding and child protection practice.

      Our courses are compatible with most tablet devices, however the NSPCC does not provide full technical support for tablet users. We do not support other mobile devices.

      Videos clips hosted on the video sharing site Vimeo feature in some of our courses. Video playback controls will vary and are dependent on the browser used to take the course and where the video is hosted. If you experience problems with the videos then we recommend you try taking the course in a different browser.
