Course Description

This online course, produced in association with the National Network for Children in Employment and Entertainment (NNCEE), covers the key statutory guidance that chaperones in the entertainment industry need to know.

It can also be taken by those working in the professional or amateur entertainment industries, for example, dance schools, amateur dramatics, choirs, production companies and professional theatres, that want to know more about legal requirements and best practice that chaperones are required to follow.

By the end of the course you will:

  • know the laws in each nation that underpin your responsibilities
  • understand how to recognise possible areas of concern
  • know how to respond to these concerns in the appropriate way
  • understand how to report any child protection concerns to those that are responsible for taking action
  • understand how to make a record of what you have seen and heard.

      Our courses are compatible with most tablet devices, however the NSPCC does not provide full technical support for tablet users. We do not support other mobile devices.

      Videos clips hosted on the video sharing site Vimeo feature in some of our courses. Video playback controls will vary and are dependent on the browser used to take the course and where the video is hosted. If you experience problems with the videos then we recommend you try taking the course in a different browser.
