Course Description
Talk Relationships for school leaders is part of our Talk Relationships service which supports people working in secondary education to overcome any challenges they may face when delivering sex and relationships education.
Focusing on a whole-school approach to sex and relationships education, this CPD certified elearning course provides school leaders with information and guidance on how to build safe, inclusive school cultures in which young people, teachers, parents and carers, governors and the local community all work together to promote and model healthy relationships across all aspects of school life.
What will I learn?
This course will help you to:
- implement a whole-school approach to sex and relationships education (SRE)
- create safe, inclusive learning environments
- adhere to national guidance and legislation around SRE
- develop an SRE curriculum that responds to the needs of young people at the school
- understand how SRE relates to safeguarding and child protection issues
- successfully handle concerns from parents and carers
- support teaching staff delivering SRE
- recognise and monitor outcomes of the school’s SRE provision
- seek feedback on the school’s SRE provision
- facilitate ongoing learning and development in the school community.
The course includes teaching pages, film clips, reflective tasks, interactive learning activities and quiz questions for you to check your learning.
