Course description

Do you know how to respond effectively to incidents of nude image sharing?

There are many reasons why young people may share nude or semi-nude images, videos or livestreams online. This CPD certified course explores these motivations as well as issues around consent, gender, additional needs and age variations. It looks at the risks involved and what steps you need to take to respond appropriately. It also covers how to recognise when sharing imagery is harmful sexual behaviour and how you can safeguard all the young people involved.

This course is designed for professionals who have a specific safeguarding or child protection responsibility in education settings. Previous child protection training is recommended but not required.

This course may also be of interest to other teaching and non-teaching staff as well as those working in other settings such as youth group leaders and sports coaches.

It covers legislation and guidance for England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Working at your own pace, you will learn:

  • why young people might share nude or semi-nude imagery online, and the risks involved
  • how to manage, prevent and respond to incidents
  • how to appropriately support young people and their parents and carers
  • what the law says about sharing images and when you should involve the police
  • how to report incidents of nude image sharing.
