Course description
Child sexual abuse is a hidden crime, which thrives in secret. Therefore, it is vital that professionals are confident in recognising and responding to all types of sexual abuse so they can support and protect children and their families.
This course series focuses on intrafamilial abuse, also known as child sexual abuse that happens in the family environment, including online sexual abuse.
This course series is designed for frontline professionals working or volunteering in universal, targeted and specialist services.
The six courses cover:
- what is child sexual abuse (CSA)?
- adults who pose a risk
- working with non-abusing family members (protective adults)
- the voice of the child
- professional confidence and competence, capacity and curiosity
- risk assessment and safety planning.

Our online courses will work in most web browsers, although we recommend that you use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. We recommend installing the latest version of your web browser before beginning your course.
This course can be taken on PCs and Macs, smart phones and tablet devices. Please note, we are unable to provide full technical support for smart phone and tablet users.
