This CPD certified online training course is for anyone who works or volunteers with babies and families in the antenatal or postnatal period including midwives, health visitors, public health nurses, social workers and early years practitioners.
Are you aware of the potential risk factors within families that may increase the risk of babies under 1 experiencing non-accidental head injuries (NAHI)?
Working with parents and carers during the antenatal or postnatal period, you play a vital role in protecting babies who may be at risk of harm.
It can be difficult to spot the potential risks of traumatic head injury. In some cases, signs can be missed because the complex and often combined risk factors that can lead to injuries are not recognised.
At the NSPCC, we work to keep children and young people safe from abuse and neglect every day.
As experts in safeguarding and child protection, we understand the issues organisations and people working with children can face. That’s why professionals trust us to provide the support, training and resources they need to help protect the children and young people they work with.
Our highly-rated training courses are developed by experts. We work with a number of organisations, experienced consultants and subject matter experts in a range of sectors to develop courses that are clear, easy-to-use, up-to-date and in line with the latest statutory guidance, and tailored to your needs.
And as a charity, income generated from the sale of our training courses is reinvested back into the NSPCC to help protect children.
Our online courses will work in most web browsers, although we recommend that you use Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Safari. We recommend installing the latest version of your web browser before beginning your course.
Our courses are compatible with most tablet devices, however the NSPCC does not provide full technical support for tablet users. We do not support other mobile devices.
Videos clips hosted on the video sharing site Vimeo feature in some of our courses. Video playback controls will vary and are dependent on the browser used to take the course and where the video is hosted. If you experience problems with the videos then we recommend you try taking the course in a different browser.
